How to Maintain a Fuel Injector on Chrysler LHS?

Before servicing the fuel injector, release the fuel system pressure and remove the negative battery cable. Slacken the mounting bolts on the intake manifold plenum, lift it up from the engine head and be sure to place a cover over the plenum as you remove it. Break the quick connect at the rear of the intake manifold to remove the fuel supply tube. If the injector connectors lack cylinder number tags, put numbers on each one before taking out the electrical connectors. Then, take out the bolts on the fuel rail on either side and lift the fuel rail straight off the cylinder head. Remove the holding clips on the fuel injectors at the rail and remove the injectors. Before setting the fuel injectors in the engine, lubricate the O-rings a bit with engine oil and clip one end of each injector. Push the clipped end into the injector rail until you hear a click. Lift the fuel rail above the cylinder head and move it in, then secure it with fuel rail mounting bolts tightened to 11 Nm (100 in. lb.). Attach the quick connect fittings at the rear of the intake manifold to your fuel supply tube, re-attach the electrodes to the fuel injectors, place the intake manifold plenum and finally link the battery cable.
