The negative cable needs to be removed from the remote jumper terminal prior to servicing and repairing the upper intake manifold. After removing the air cleaner housing and the inlet hose, pull the throttle cables from both the throttle arm and bracket. Before touching any of the parts, remove all the electrical connectors connected to the Secondary Runner Valve (SRV), Manifold Tuning Valve (MTV),
Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), Idle Air Control (IAC), Intake Air Temperature/Manifold Absolute Pressure (TMAP) and Vacuum Reservoir Solenoid. After that, remove the vacuum connections from the SRV Reservoir, Speed Control Reservoir, PCV Valve, Proportional Purge Solenoid and Power
Brake Booster. Take out the supports around the intake manifold on both sides and the front corners and at the MTV after that. Remove the fastener at the connection between the
Throttle Body and its support, then remove the clips holding the
EGR Tubes to the intake. Finish by taking out the bolts that join the intake to the engine. When mounting, ensure you inspect and wipe the gasket seal spots clean, make sure intake gaskets do not show cuts or holes and install new ones when needed. Install the intake manifold and screw in each bolt by hand, then tighten them gradually by following the prescribed order until getting a torque of 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Put the left and right side intake manifold supports in place, then replace the support brackets at the front and middle of the car. Place the throttle body onto the support bracket and then tighten the fastener securing them together. Link the vacuum lines to the SRV Reservoir, Speed Control Reservoir, PCV Valve, Proportional Purge Solenoid and Power Brake Booster. Connect the plugs from the SRV, MTV, TPS, IAC, TMAP and Vacuum Reservoir Solenoid back to their places in the engine. Next, put the EGR tubes over the intake manifold and then the throttle and speed control cables onto the bracket and throttle arm. After that, replace the air cleaner housing, the inlet tube and wrap up by reconnecting the negative cable to the remote jumper terminal.
