Before servicing the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, confirm that the cooling system is either cool or has no pressure, so you do not get hurt. Lose the negative battery connection, put the car on a lift and secure it. Before closing the draincock, release some liquid from the system below the upper radiator hose level. Remove first the front engine compartment supports and upper radiator crossmember, then take out the upper radiator hose. Cut the electrical link from the bottom of the Manifold Tune Valve and then unscrew the valve. Following that, disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector and take out the sensor from the lower
Intake Manifold. To attach the sensor, put it into the lower intake manifold and tighten it to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Apply thread sealer, specified by Mopar, to the sensor's threads if you are using a used part. Attach the ECT sensor electrical connector, put in the Manifold Tune Valve and connect its electrical connector. Replace the upper radiator hose, upper radiator crossmember and front engine compartment supports on top of the engine. Filling the cooling system and reuniting the negative
Battery Cable, run the engine until it warms up and the fan cycles. Check the coolant level inside the pressure bottle once more between running.
