First, add Mopar(R) Dielectric Grease or equivalent, to a New sealing O-ring, then install it into the groove created by where the inlet cover contacts the housing. Insert the seven fasteners in a circle around the pump's edges and tighten them to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) torque. Should a pulley need to be installed, put it in place after following the instructions in this step. Slide the
Water Pump assembly onto the power steering pump shaft, then turn the water pump until the upper side of its outlet lies close to the upper mounting holes while aligning its fastener holes. To reach the hex on the water pump impeller, put a 1/4 inch drive 10 mm socket through the coolant inlet and push it into one end of the heater hose, keeping a 6 inch long extension behind it and push the extension to fit over the hex in the center of the impeller. On one side, securely tighten the power steering pump shaft with a hex wrench, then with a ratchet, clockwise the water pump extension which makes the impeller tighten with a force of 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.) against the power steering pump. Clean the area around the worm gear by removing the 10 mm socket, 1/4 inch extension, ratchet and hex wrench. Line up all three pump fastener holes and use three hex drive bolts with washers, tightening them to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.) torque before you install the assembly on the vehicle.
