How to Install a Sway Bar Kit on an All-Wheel-Drive on Chrysler Sebring?

If the sway bar kit supports require cushions, insert them onto the bar such that the slit cut in the cushions is accessed. For those with all-wheel surface drive, place the bar over the axle half shafts once you've installed it. After that, place the sway bar kit on the rear crossmember. Put one retainer over each cushion at the holes provided and hold them in place with the retainer screws, but don't tighten them now. On both sides of the vehicle, connect the sway bar kit upper stud to the sway bar link and screw on a nut to that stud, tightening it to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) as you hold the sway bar link stationary. Finally, fasten the cushion retainer screws to 25 Nm or 18 ft. lbs. and bring the vehicle down.

How to Remove and Service a Sway Bar Kit on Chrysler Sebring?

Before dealing with the sway bar kit, make sure to raise and support your vehicle. If fitting, disconnect the engine belly pan, along with the rear and front engine suspension studs. Hold the lower stud on the sway bar link still at both ends, then pull off the nut securing the link to the bar. Remove the two screws holding the power steering hose clamp onto the crossmember and the four screws installing the heat shield over the steering gear. Unscrew the two bolts that hold on the steering gear to the crossmember and hang the steering gear with a bungee cord to stop it from lowering when the crossmember is taken off. Be sure to mark the place of the front crossmember on the body close to each bolt, as off-centered reinstallation may create problems for wheel alignment. Use a transmission jack to stabilize the crossmember, then unscrew the mounting bolts attaching it to the body, as well as the mounting screws connecting the front reinforcement brackets and remove the brackets. Lift the crossmember with the jack just enough that you can remove the sway bar kit without going any higher. Take out the screws that hold the sway bar bushing retainers onto the crossmember, then remove the two sway bar bushing retainers themselves. Open the slit in the cushions to slide both cushions off the sway bar and then remove the bar from your car.
