How to Remove and Service a Steering Shaft on Chrysler Pacifica?

Start by taking away the intermediate shaft (6) and its cover (1) from the center of the dash so you can work on the steering shaft. With the vehicle raised, insert Remover (1), Special Tool 6831A, into the roll pin at the steering gear shaft (3) to remove the intermediate shaft extension (4). Fasten the knurled nut to the end of the Remover and, with Remover stationary, turn the hex nut to release the roll pin from the shafts. Once that's done, slide the roll pin out and then remove the intermediate shaft extension from the steering gear shaft.
