When servicing the lateral stabilizer rod, raise the vehicle, support it and remove the wheel and tire first. Then, loosen the bolts inside and outside the rear axle carrier by removing the inner and outer track bar bolts first. Should you find it necessary, hammer the track bar with a plastic headed hammer to help separate the rubber mounts from their flanges, but before removing the whole track bar. At installation, install the track bar without tightening it to the given torque at first, making sure the vehicle is in the position ready for driving. Attach one bolt from the outer track bar to the wheel carrier and do the same between the inner track bar and the rear axle carrier, but don't tighten them. Afterwards, place the wheel and tire back on, bring the vehicle down from the lift and check that the outer track bar bolt is tightened to 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.) and the inner track bar bolt to the same torque value. In addition, always check the alignment of the vehicle.
