Start by removing the
Hood Latch and taking the cable end off the latch locking mechanism. Slide the side of the cable case into the slot on the hood latch, hold down the barb and remove the cable out of the latch. After that, pull out the hood release handle and free the rubber grommet cable insulator from the hole in the dash panel. Attach a piece of mechanic's wire the proper length to the latch on the cable, then feed the cable through the engine compartment, making sure it reaches near the power
Brake Booster on the dash panel. Take the attaching clips off the cable case, draw the cable from the dash panel inside the vehicle until the mechanic's wire is visible and then remove the cable from the mechanic's wire. After opening the hood, the hood cable may now be taken out of the car. For fitting the cable, put it against the instrument panel and link the latch section to the mechanic's wire that emerges through the dash panel. Using the mechanic's wire, draw the cable through the engine as far as it will go, past the latch, then pull out the mechanic's wire. Push the rubber grommet cable insulator into the hole at the front of the dash, bolt the hood release handle under the instrument panel and attach the cable to the latch. Push the cable case sideways into the slot in the hood latch and use the cable end to lock it. Set the hood latch and all clips onto the cable case and confirm the clips are inserted into where they originally belonged in the strut tower, fender, headlamp zone and radiator crossmember.
