How to Service and Repair an Antenna Mast on Dodge Neon?

Before servicing and fixing the antenna mast, unscrew it from the antenna body to remove it. After that, unhook the antenna cable from the cable lead in the instrument panel harness above the passenger side cowl trim panel. Carefully pull the push pins from the reverse of the plastic inner fender shield and slide the shield aside to uncover the base. Lift off the cap nut and adapter and gently tug the base/cable assembly up from underneath the load beam. The antenna base needs to be installed by pushing it and the cable assembly upwards through the opening in the fender, so the grommet is positioned under the load beam. On top of the fender, line up the adapter with the base/cable assembly and then screw on the cap nut to a torque of 7 Nm (65 in. lbs.). Slide the grommet into the side panel and attach the cable to the connector in the instrument panel harness. After that, fit the plastic inner fender shield and the passenger cowl side trim panel.
