Put the clutch field coil so the dowel pin lines up with the hole in the compressor and make certain the lead wire is not squeezed. It is important to slide on a new snap ring for the compressor clutch field coil, making sure the bevel ends outward and the eyelets are on either left or right of the dowel pin. Take A/C Snap Ring Pliers 9764 or a similar set and use them to center and install the ring onto the groove for the clutch field coil of the compressor. Make sure the pulley and bearing keep friction surfaces in good shape and position the new snap ring with the bevel pointing out before securing it to the compressor. If you're placing the original clutch plate and assembly back, set shims on the shaft like before; otherwise, insert a stack of new shims measuring 2.54 mm. Fasten the clutch plate to the front of the A/C compressor and turn the compressor shaft bolt to 19 Nm. After tightening, measure the air gap in several areas to make sure it falls within 0.35 - 0.60 mm; add or remove shims if it isn't. Run the compressor clutch field coil wire lead behind the bracket, attach the connector to the bracket and plug the engine wire harness in place. Then, secure the accessory drive belt, install the radiator assembly, place the air cleaner and its hose and link the negative battery cable back to the rest of the system.
