Prior to taking off the condenser, check where the
Radiator and condenser seals are, because removing the seals to service the condenser and forgetting to replace them correctly will result in poor performance. Remove the negative
Battery Cable and then take the refrigerant out of the system. First, separate the refrigerant line connecting the discharge line to the condenser inlet, then put plugs or tape over all opened refrigerant line fittings. After that, remove the attachment fitting for the liquid line coming from the condenser and put a plug or tape back on all refrigerant line fittings. Release the two screws that hold the radiator and fan shroud module onto the inside of the upper radiator crossmember. If your machine has a V-8 engine, take the radiator out of the engine compartment. Remove the two screws holding the condenser to the top of the radiator support, then tilt the top of the radiator and fan shroud module toward the engine without damaging the engine cooling fan's fins. After tilting the radiator and fan shroud module, raise the condenser until you can slide the bottom mounts out of the isolator area in the lower crossmember. To mount, lift the radiator and fan shroud module towards the engine before putting the lower condenser mounts into the isolators of the lower crossmember and attaching the two screws on the condenser to the upper radiator crossmember which you should tighten to 10.7 Nm (95 in. lbs.). If the car has a V-8, install the radiator into the engine compartment and then fasten the radiator and fan shroud module to the inside of the upper radiator crossmember with the two holding screws. After removing the plugs or tape from the liquid line and condenser outlet, screw the liquid line into the outlet, tightening it to 25.99 +/- 3.39 Nm (230 +/- 30 in. lbs.). Take the tape or plugs out of the refrigerant fittings on the discharge line and the condenser inlet, attach the lines and tighten the fitting to 25.99 +/- 3.39 Nm (230 +/- 30 in. lbs.). Be sure to put the air seals on the condenser and radiator in place, reconnect the negative battery cable, empty the refrigerant system and charge it with the new refrigerant. Should the condenser be replaced, put in 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of the special refrigerant oil designed for your compressor into the refrigerant system.
