The Blower Motor of the Dodge Dakota vehicles is one of the components of the climate control system of the vehicle hence has the function of blowing air to the passenger's compartment. This electrical appliance works with energy from the vehicle's battery and can control the flow of air inside the vehicle for the proper condition. Dodge dakota over the years may have had instances where different styles of blower motors have been used and the number of blower motors may have also change with respect to the actual climate control design. Some models have only one Blower Motor while other can have extra motors for better air distribution especially when it is from a large unit. However, Blower Motors of Dodge Dakota vehicles are relatively long lasting and occasionally may fail like any other part of the car's make up.

Dodge Dakota Blower Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Service and Install a Blower Motor on Dodge Dakota?
    A:
Before replacing the blower motor, shut off the air bag system by taking out and isolating the battery ground wire for two minutes, so the air bag can't unexpectedly turn on and injure someone. Before anything else, take out and dismantle the heater-A/C housing and then turn to removing the three screws that connect the blower motor and blower wheel to the housing. Take out the blower motor and wheel from the passenger compartment while running the blower motor wire harness, grommet and connector through the hole on the dash. Take off the retainer from the blower wheel and unhook the wheel from the motor shaft. For installation, insert the blower motor, air spoiler and wheel assembly into the heater-A/C housing. Use the blower motor wire harness connector to pass through the grommet hole in the dash panel side. Pull the wiring for the blower motor through the hole and let the grommet rest inside, then put the assembly into the housing. Fasten the blower motor, air spoiler and wheel assembly with the three screws, turning them until they reach a torque of 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.), then connect the blower motor cables. After that, take care to install the passenger side carpet and the lower right kick panel.
  • Q: How to Remove a Blower Motor on Dodge Dakota?
    A:
The air bag capacitor must be allowed to discharge by leaving your battery like that for two minutes. The first thing you should do is take out the negative Battery Cable. After that, separate the harness connector from the blower motor. Undo the blower motor screws to the HVAC housing and pull the blower motor from inside the housing.
