You should start by disabling the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) which means removing the battery negative cable to prevent air bag deployment and wait two minutes for the capacitor to drain. Hold the multi-function switch with its alignment pins in place and slide it into the multi-function switch housing located on the left side. Fasten the two screws to the switch using the mounting housing by rotating the
Steering Wheel to 2 Nm or 20 in. lbs. Attach the wire harness connector to the back of the switch, fit the lower shroud over the steering column, set the center screw inside and tighten it by hand. Make sure the gearshift lever gap hider is yearned together if you have an automatic transmission before you put the upper shroud over the lower one. Fit the tabs in the upper shroud with their slots in the lower shroud and grasp the upper shroud to snap it onto the lower shroud, then tighten and fasten the two screws on the outside to secure the shrouds to 2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Put the steering column knob onto the adjuster actuator, secure it with a screw tightened to 2 Nm (20 in. lbs.) and then attach the battery's negative cable.
