Don't hit or let the occupant restraint controller fall, because it could damage the impact sensor. In case, you need to swap out the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) and Occupant Classification Module (OCM), replace one at a time and verify the supplemental restraint after you do. It is necessary to remove the left door sill trim cover by using a trim stick C-4755 before removing the screw and left cowl trim cover. Next, unscrew and open the left instrument panel cap and after that remove the two screws and the Steering Column opening cover. Once you've removed the hood release bolts, move the handle aside and use a screwdriver to take out the four screws securing the reinforcement panel in the steering column opening. Unfasten the steering column tilt lever, remove the upper and lower shaft coverings and cut all the wiring harness connectors on the column. Pull the Shift Cable free from the inside column shift lever actuator and let go of the cable from the column bracket. Take off the SKIM module first, connectors included, then remove the upper steering shaft coupler bolt and take the shaft forward. Clear the Brake Light Switch and throw it out, then undo the four nuts that secure the steering column to unmount it from the studs it is attached to. Disconnect the steering column assembly, together with the bolts from the pedal support bracket and rod from the pedal release. Take the electrical connectors out of the fuse block, take out the bolt for the ground wire and remove all bolts from the driver side A-pillar grab handle's trim covers before taking off the A-pillar trim panel. Take out the floor console, remove both body wire harness connectors from the ORC and pull the instrument panel harness found under the carpet after loosening the center screws. Remove the bolts holding the instrument panel centerpiece, driver's seat, driver's side floor duct and support panel, after which remove the right instrument panel end cap and passenger side support bolts. Take away the right door sill trim cover and the right cowl trim cover using a C-4755 trim stick and then disconnect and remove the amplifier from the circuit. Take away the bolts of the harness and ground wire and carefully take out the rear floor duct and panel along the passenger side A-pillar. Fit the passenger side rear floor duct, secure the screws for the ground wire and passenger side wire harness and tighten those bolts to 14 Nm. Match both ends of the amp and antenna connectors, put the amp in its position and tighten everything to 6 Nm. Set the correct cover for the top cowl and the front door sill, plus confirmation that passenger support bolts have been tightened 27 Nm. Fit the left panel end cap, secure the driver's side support bolts to 27 Nm and attach the left floor duct. Put in the driver's seat so the center support bolts tighten to 11 Nm and make sure the center instrument panel wiring harness is under the carpet, attached with the bolts. Be sure to unlatch the lever arm of every wire harness connector for the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) before you put them in their proper locations. Readjust the body wire harness connectors to the ORC, so that the latches click firmly into the right position. Put in the floor console and secure the driver's side A-pillar trim with six newtons of force bolts. Add the ground wire and twist the bolts until they are 14 Nm. Place the electrical connectors from the fuse block, link the brake release rod to the pedal assembly and bolt the pedal in place using a tightening torque of 14 Nm. Place the Steering Column on its support and leave the mounting nuts loose. Raise the steering column collar carefully against the studs and tighten by hand. Put the steering shaft coupler onto the steering shaft and, using a new bolt, secure it loosely. Place the steering column at the center in the dash opening and then tighten the nuts to 28 Nm, starting from the left and going down from there. Screw the coupler bolt until it reaches 38 Nm, fit the Brake Light Switch and install the shifter cable. Tie the wiring harness to the column, secure the SKIM module above it and put on the upper and lower column shrouds, attaching them with screws. Add the column tilt lever with two screws, torque the steering column opening reinforcement by four screws, install the hood release handle using two screws and then the steering column opening cover with two screws. After that, install the left instrument panel end cap, left cowl trim cover with a screw and left door sill trim cover and do not connect the battery negative cable until you pass the supplemental restraint system verification test.
