Jeep Commander A/C System Valve Core Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install an A/C System Valve Core on Jeep Commander?
    A:
First, coat the inside of the valve core (3) with clean refrigerant oil advised for use in the vehicle's A/C system before installing it. Unplug the tape or cable from the main cable connection on the station (2). Be sure the valve core sinks deeply into the A/C service connector to safely remove and recover all refrigerant during system service. Remove the present valve core using a core tool, then fit and tighten a new one in the same port using it. After you have installed the unit, remove all refrigerant, then fill the system as needed. Remove the protective cap (1) and set it aside before starting any job on the refrigerant system, but reinstall it when you finish so the system stays protected and free of contaminants.
