How to Remove and Replace Front Brake Pads on Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Before you replace the front brake pads, make sure the vehicle is raised and supported and remove the wheel and tire together. Get rid of a little bit of fluid from the master cylinder reservoir using a decent suction gun. Following that, release the 2 caliper bolts, press down on the caliper and pull it free from the adaptor. Connect the caliper to the suspension part near it using wire, so the brake hose doesn't get in the way of holding the caliper up. Clean and grease all slide pins and slide pin bushings with Dow Corning grease G807 or the grease that comes with the brake shoes. After that, join the caliper to the caliper anchor and fasten the caliper slide pin to a torque setting of 29 - 41 Nm (21 - 30 ft. lbs.). Then place the cap over each caliper slide pin bushing. Hold the support spring's end in the top caliper hole using your thumb, then bring the screwdriver under the anchor to let the spring fall lower. Put on the wheel and tire after your assembly is done and done, then remove the support and drop the vehicle down. Knowing all this, pump the brake pedal, let the caliper pistons and brake shoes touch the rotors, align the brake pedal and add fluid as much as necessary.
