2000 Dodge Dakota Coolant Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
A: To avoid getting hurt by hot pressurized coolant, first drain the cooling system a bit when servicing the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor. After that, remove the electrical connector from the sensor and then take out the sensor from the thermostat housing. Put the sensor back in place and tighten it until it reaches 11 Nm or 8 ft. lbs. and add back any coolant you lost.
