2000 Dodge Durango Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Blower Motor Resistor on 2000 Dodge Durango?
    A: You should first take out the negative battery cable to work on the blower motor resistor. Take out the cover/grille panel for the plenum from the top of the cowl. Through the access hole, open the cowl plenum's panel to unscrew the two hex screws that join the blower motor resistor with the front panel. Draw out the front blower motor resistor as well as its wire harness from the plenum and pull the resistor out of its connector in the cowl plenum after it comes free. For installation, fit the front blower motor resistor into the wire harness connector and then feed resistor and the wire harness back through the cowl plenum hole. Clip the front blower motor resistor onto the cross bar with the two screws, tighten them to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.) and then fix the cowl grille panel to the cowl top and attach the clamp to the negative battery cable.
