- Q: How to Service a Blower Motor Resistor with Optional Rear A/C Units on 2001 Dodge Durango?A: The first step to servicing the rear blower motor resistor, for those with the optional rear A/C unit, is to cut off the negative battery cable. Remove the rear quarter panel plastic trim from the passenger area and unplug the rear blower motor resistor's harness connector afterward. After that, detach the screw securing the rear blower motor resistor bracket to the rear A/C unit housing and remove the resistor and bracket in one piece. Position the bracket and rear blower motor resistor in the rear unit's right corner and attach and tighten it using the mounting screw to 2.2 N.m (20 in. lbs.). Run the blower motor resistor wire harness connector into the rear A/C unit and connect the retainer to the hole in the top right corner of the unit. After that, install the proper right rear quarter panel interim and reconnect the negative battery wire.
