2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Rear Brake Disc on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Start by lifting your vehicle and prop it up safely and after that, take off the wheel and tire assembly. Following this, remove the caliper anchor bolts and carry the caliper and anchor away as a group, then connect the whole assembly to a neighboring suspension component with a piece of wire to stop the caliper from carrying the brake hose. Following this, handle the retainers that support the brake disc on the axle studs and slide the brake disc from the studs. As part of installation, fit the brake disc on top of the axle studs, add the caliper anchor assembly and tighten the anchor bolts from 90 - 115 Nm (66 - 85 ft. lbs.). Assemble the wheel and tire again, take off the support and drop the car to the ground. Then, continue using the brake pedal until the brake shoes and caliper pistons are flush in the drilled holes.
