2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Speed Sensor on the Front Wheel on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: To start, raise and support the car, then unbolt the sensor from the steering knuckle and remove it. After that, take off the wire from the brackets around the steering knuckle and separate it from the harness before removing the sensor and wire. To install the sensor, put it back on the steering knuckle and put Mopar Lock N' Seal or Loctite 242 on the sensor mounting bolt, replacing the original bolt if it's worn out. Secure the braid and sensor mounting bolt using a torque setting of 12 - 14 Nm (106 - 124 inch lbs.) with grommets that go between the steering brackets and hold the sensor wire securely in place. Also, be sure the sensor wire has a clear route, away from all the vehicle parts and not coiled or curled and then remove the support before lowering the car.
