2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Blower Motor Resistor on 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Before servicing the blower motor resistor, first halt the blower motor and give it at least five minutes to cool so you don't get burned. Take off and separate the negative battery cable. Unpin the wiper arms from the windshield's main parts and lift off the top cover on the cowl plenum. Bring the vehicle forward and open the cowl plenum, then remove the headlamp and dash wire harness connector from the blower motor resistor connector receptacle on the right. Remove the blower motor resistor from the hole in the dash panel, as it is fastened by a snap fit, then take it out of the cowl plenum area. To install, set the blower motor resistor on the right-hand side of the cowl plenum and plug it into the dash panel's mounting hole. Hold the blower motor resistor connector firmly in place until it snaps together and then hook up the headlamp and dash wire harness connector again. After this, reattach the cowl cover and windshield wiper arms and link the negative side of the battery cable.
