2001 Chrysler Sebring Evaporator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Evaporator Core on 2001 Chrysler Sebring?
A: The first step in evaporator core service or repair is to disconnect the negative battery cable. Release the HVAC assembly from the vehicle, cut the connector from the recirculation motor and take out the wiring harness connector at the top of the housing. Remove the seal at the evaporator coil after that, along with the screw on top of the casing. Take out the upper housing and find the evaporator temperature sensor, then remove it from the lower housing. Take out the evaporator from the bottom housing and remove the seal made of styrofoam on it. Then, place the evaporator coil inside the less to connect the evaporator temperature sensor. Screw the upper and lower housing together, connect the re-circulation motor and install the evaporator seal. After that, secure the HVAC harness in place on the upper housing and set the new HVAC housing in the vehicle.
