2001 Dodge Dakota MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on the Throttle Body on 2001 Dodge Dakota?
A: You'll find the MAP sensor to the side of the throttle body, linked by a rubber fitting shaped like an L. First, take off the air duct connected to the throttle body and afterwards disconnect the electrical part attached to the sensor. Then, take out the two holding bolts holding the MAP sensor and while removing it, slide the rubber fitting off of the throttle body and remove it from the sensor. Installation is done by placing the rubber L-shaped nipple onto the MAP sensor, placing the sensor over the throttle body while keeping the fitting over its vacuum nipple and fastening the sensor with the bolts, using 3 Nm torque. Once you have the sensor reset, match the electrical attachment to the unit and reinstall the duct near the throttle body.
