2001 Dodge Durango Exhaust Pipe Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Exhaust Pipe on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: Before starting the service on the exhaust pipe, make sure the vehicle is lifted and supported safely. Pour on some Mopar Rust Penetrant to the bolts and nuts and let it stay for 5 minutes. Next, unplug your oxygen sensor(s), remove the nuts on the exhaust manifold-to-exhaust pipe and the exhaust pipe to converter exhaust clamp. Take off the exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter's back flange and later from the front flange. Examine all sections, throw away any rusty clamps and support pieces that have broken or worn out and fit the parts onto your car using approved parts or identical parts to guarantee proper placement and proper sound levels. For installation, join the muffler pipe(s) to the manifold, checking that you have tightened the nuts to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.) torque. Join the exhaust pipe to the catalytic converter Range, put in the exhaust clamp and tighten the clamp nuts to 33 ft. lbs. or 41 Nm. Attach the oxygen sensor cord(s), lower the car, turn on the engine and look for leaks in the exhaust and unexpected contacts with any body parts.
