  • Q: How to Replace the Front Washer Pump on 2001 Dodge Durango?
    A: Make sure to disconnect the negative battery cable before you change the front washer pump/motor. After that, remove the headlamp and dash wire harness from the connector on the motor. Remove the washer supply hose from the barbed outlet nipple on the front pump/motor, so the fluid can run through and into a clean container for reuse. Gently use a trim stick or other suitable flat-bladed tool to lift the barbed inlet nipple of the washer pump out of the seal in the reservoir without harming the reservoir. Pull out and throw away the rubber grommet seal covering the hole on the washer pump where it connects to the reservoir. Before installing, put a new rubber seal into the washer pump opening in your washing machine. Steadily and firmly push the washer pump so that the barbed inlet nipple clicks inside the seal on the reservoir. Attach the pie-shaped washer hose to the front washer pump's outlet nipple and join the headlamp and dash wire harness to the motor connector receptacle. Pour in the washer fluid you drained earlier, replace the negative battery cable and then you're done.
