Extra vehicle components should be checked well but repaired only when damage is noticeable on them. Once an air bag is deployed, there will be a powder inside the vehicle made mainly from safe pyrotechnic debris, but there may also be salt and soda on the surfaces which can bother the skin, eyes, nose or throat. That's why you should put on safety glasses, rubber gloves and a long-sleeved shirt while cleaning up your work space. Should your skin become irritated, run cool water over that part of the body, while irritation of the nose or throat demands you take a break from the vehicle for fresh air until it goes away; long-lasting irritations need you to see a doctor. Both air bags should be removed and transferred to the scrap pile designated for vehicles. Vacuum the valuation to clear any leftover powder, starting on the outside and cleaning in toward the middle and don't neglect the outlets for the heater and air conditioner.
