2001 Jeep Wrangler A/C Hose Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose in HVAC System for Liquid Hose on 2001 Jeep Wrangler?
A: First, break the connection from the battery negative cable, then remove the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. Open the spring-lock connector holding the bottom plastic mounting clip on the liquid line and remove it. Unhook the top refrigerant line fitting on the evaporator inlet. You should use plugs or tape to cover all the unhooked refrigerant line fittings. After that, remove the fastener and get rid of the liquid line from the condenser outlet tube refrigerant line fitting, covering both openings with plugs or tape. Take the liquid line out of the right inner fender shield by removing it from the plastic clips. When installing, put the package aside and remove the plastic plug or tape from the condenser outlet tube's refrigerant fitting and the condenser end of the liquid line. Then, fasten the liquid line to the condenser outlet tube refrigerant line fitting and tighten the fastener to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.). Remove the tape or plugs from the type A fittings on the refrigerant lines on the evaporator end of the liquid line and at the inlet tube and attach the liquid line coupler to the inlet tube. Attach the liquid line into the clips that hold it in the right inner fender shield and insert the second clip under the small tube on the dash panel to secure the liquid line to the accumulator. Reattach the cable from the battery negative terminal, take out the refrigerant and then recharge it.
