2001 Jeep Wrangler Blower Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Blower Motor on 2001 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Take out the truck's battery first when you're working on the blower motor. Remove the three screws that keep the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) attached to the engine compartment side of the dash panel, then pull the PCM away from in front of the blower motor. Remove the blower motor wire harness connector and later remove the three screws that hold the blower motor and wheel to the heater-A/C housing. Turn and twist the blower motor unit as needed to take out any items from the heater-A/C housing. Start by placing and bolting the blower motor and its wheel assembly into the heater-A/C housing, where they should be aligned. Tighten the three securing screws to 2.2 Nm or 20 in. lbs. Connect the blower motor wire harness plug, put the PCM onto the bracket on the dash and attach and tighten the three screws that hold the PCM securely. Afterward, put the battery back in its tray.
