2001 Jeep Wrangler A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches Parts and Q&A

  • Q: What Are A/C Compressor Cut-Out Switches and How to Service Them on 2001 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The main step for servicing the pressure switch/sensor is to first remove and isolate the negative cable from the battery. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the cut-off switch which is attached to the side of the non-flexible discharge line close to the compressor. Take the high pressure cut-off switch apart from the discharge line fitting by unscrewing it, remove it from the vehicle and carefully throw away the O-ring from the fitting. While installing, coat a new O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil, fit it onto the discharge line fitting and be certain to use only the special O-rings and oil advised for your system. Put the high pressure cut-off switch on the discharge line fitting, tighten it as instructed, plug the wire harness connector into the switch and after that, attach the negative battery cable once more.
