How to Maintain and Fix a Rear Seat Belt and Retractor on 2002 Dodge Neon?

Remove the rear seat cushion and back before taking out the seat belt bezel placed above the parcel shelf cover to fix and repair your rear seat retractor belt. Should you need to, take away the rear seat closure panel silencer pad to get to the retractor. After that, take out the bolt holding the seat belt lower anchor to the floor and remove the bolt attaching the retractor to the back seat closure panel. Pull the seat belt bezel and buckle stud from the hole in the package shelf and from the trunk, pick out the rear seat belt retractor. Put the rear seat belt retractor in the trunk compartment and then use the seat belt bezel and buckle stab to push the seat belt through the hole in the rear shelf panel. Remember to torque each bolt to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.), starting with the attachment bolt for the retractor to the rear seat panel and then to the lower seat anchor bolt to the floor. Snap the silencer pad onto the rear closure panel, hook the seat belt bezel into the rear shelf trim panel and install the seat cushions and back at the end.
