2002 Jeep Liberty Transmission Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Transmission Mount for an Automatic Transmission on 2002 Jeep Liberty?
A: Before fixing and adjusting the rear engine mount for the automatic transmission, unhook the negative battery cable and use a jack to raise the car, so that the transmission is free. Take apart the nuts that secure the cushion to the crossmember, lift out the seat base and pull out the crossmember. For 4WD vehicles, unsettling the bolts beneath the support cushion and removing the cushion and bracket from the gearbox should be done. The first thing to do for 2WD vehicles is remove the bolts connecting the transmission support adaptor bracket to the transmission and then take out the bracket. Install the transmission mount to the transmission using the bolts made for the job. Within the vehicle, set the crossmember and attach it with the mount bolt. Let down the vehicle, extract the transmission support and link the negative cable to the battery once more.
