2003 Chrysler Sebring Seat Belt Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Rear Seat Belt and Retractor on 2003 Chrysler Sebring?
A: In order to service or repair the rear seat belt and retractor, first remove the rear shelf trim panel. You should then take out the nut that holds the retractor on the center rear seat belt to the rear shelf next and then detach the cushion from the seat frame. Unscrew the nut found between the floor pan and the rear center seat belt anchor and move the center rear seat belt retractor assembly from the vehicle. To begin the installation, examine the shoulder/lap belt and switch out the retractor if it is cut, damaged, frayed or torn at the beginning of installation. Attach the center rear seat belt retractor assembly to the rear of the vehicle, tightening the bolt until you reach 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.) Guide the webbing and bezel underneath the rear shelf trim panel before putting it all back on. Insert the nut for the rear seat belt anchor into the floor pan stud, direct the rear belts to prevent them from twisting or tangling and tighten the nut to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.). Then, replace the rear seat cushion and when the nut under the back is aligned, give it a quarter turn until it reaches a tightness of 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
