2003 Dodge Durango Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor on 2003 Dodge Durango?
A: This sensor is installed in the plenum of the intake manifold, right near the left side of the throttle body. For this kind of sensor, disconnect the cable from the sensor before removing the sensor from the intake manifold. For sensor types that snap in, first detach the wire from the Intake Manifold Temperature (IMT) sensor and remove any dirt under the sensor on the intake manifold. Carefully push the small tab up and rotate the sensor a little back and to the left to remove it, while inspecting the sensor's O-ring. Before you attach the electrical connector to a threaded type sensor, install the sensor, tighten it to 20 ft. lbs. or 28 N.m on the intake manifold and then finish the electrical connection. For this type of sensor, examine its O-ring, clear the sensor mounting hole if dirty, set the sensor inside the intake manifold and rotate it clockwise until it passes the release area. When finished, plug the electric wiring connector into the sensor's terminal.
