2003 Dodge Durango Throttle Position Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace the Throttle Position Sensor on the Throttle Body on 2003 Dodge Durango?
A: The TPS is found attached to the throttle body. First, take out the air duct and air resonator box at the throttle body. After that, separate the electrical connection of the TPS and remove the two bolts used to secure the TPS. Take the TPS off the throttle body afterward. When installing, put the throttle body in the TPS hole, pointing the end at the socket of the TPS so it can turn through a few degrees. Should the sensor not turn, position the throttle shaft in the other side of the socket's tangs, because this takes away some tension from the TPS. Fit the TPS in place and add the two retaining bolts, fastening them so that they reach a tightness of 7 Nm (60 in. lbs.). Check the throttle for binding by adjusting the feed lever by hand, secure the electrical connector on the TPS and return the air duct to the throttle body.
