2005 Chrysler Crossfire Mass Air Flow Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Mass Air Flow Sensor and Intake Air Temperature Sensor on 2005 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: First, try to disconnect the negative battery cable so you can access these sensors. To take off the engine cover, hold the corners and pull up firmly. Unattach the connector to the Mass Air Flow (MAF) / IAT harness and take out the vent hose. Release the lock ring on the Mass Air Flow Sensor to the intake by inserting a suitable tool into the locking ring and pushing the tabs on the intake apart from their locked place. Use a proper tool to press down on the locking tab on the bottom right of the Mass Air Flow Sensor and pull upward on the one on the upper left to unlock the Mass Air Flow Sensor from both parts of the intake. Also, remove the sealing ring from the air inlet and inspect it and the ring inside the Mass Air Flow Sensor assembly, as well as the locking tabs on the Mass Air Flow Sensor. To properly install the Mass Air Flow Sensor, push it onto the throttle body securely and close each locking tab over the intake manifold. Check that the upper locking ring and tabs fit nicely with the tabs on the intake, then squeeze the ring to connect the Mass Air Flow Sensor with the intake. Set the vent hose onto the Mass Air Flow Sensor and join the connector of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) / IAT harness. Lastly, attach the engine cover by fitting the retaining clips to the mounts, pressing them down until secure, little lubricant on the mounts if desired, and reattach the negative battery cable.
