2005 Chrysler Pacifica Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Air Bag Sensor Located in the C-Pillar on 2005 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before handlign the impact sensor in the C-Pillar, begin by taking off the negative battery cable while the hood is open and let the system reserve capacitor discharge for two minutes. Take out the quarter trim panel next to the side of the car where you are going to install the new sensor. After that, loosen the two screws that hold the impact sensor, separate the electrical connector and remove the unit from the vehicle. Put the sensor near its position in the vehicle and join the electrical connector. Attach the sensor to the mounting studs, tightening the retaining screws to 7.3 N.m (65 in. lbs.); then fit the quarter trim panel in its original location. Thoroughly finish all the steps before connecting the negative charger to minimize the risk of occupant personal injury or death. Remember to check the system and drive the car before you close up the hood.
