2004 Dodge Dakota Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How is the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor Located, Removed, and Installed in a 3.7L Engine on 2004 Dodge Dakota?
A: You'll find the intake manifold temperature (IMT) sensor on the left side of the intake manifold plenum when you open the engine's cylinder head. Disconnect the electrical connector, remove any dirt from the intake manifold beneath the sensor and then remove the sensor. Lift the small plastic release tab slightly and turn the sensor 1/4 turn counterclockwise to remove it and inspect the O-ring while you do this. While installing, check that the sensor O-ring is perfect and clean the sensor mounting area in the intake manifold. Place the sensor into the intake manifold and turn it clockwise until it fits past the release tab and then attach the electric connector back.
