2004 Dodge Durango Exhaust Heat Shield Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an Exhaust Heat Shield on 2004 Dodge Durango?
A: The heat shields are serviced by first raising and supporting the car. After the nuts and screws securing the heat shields near the frame and floor are removed, take out the muffler front and rear support hangers and then remove the heat shield from the muffler. Remove both oxygen sensor wires and slide the heat shield off around the exhaust system. Put the heat shields back on your car's frame or floor pan, then securely tighten the screws to 7 Nm (60 in. lbs.) and the nuts to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Next, let down the vehicle.
