2003 Dodge Durango Exhaust Heat Shield Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Exhaust Heat Shield on 2003 Dodge Durango?
A: Before fixing or repairing the heat shield, raise and support the entire vehicle. Unscrew and remove the nuts from the heat shields and from the frame and floor pan and remove both of the oxygen sensor connectors at this point. Removing the heat shield on the muffler requires you to first take off the front and rear support hangers. Pull the shield out over the exhaust system. For fitting the heat shields, put them on the floor pan or frame then tighten all the screws and nuts to 7 Nm (60 in. lbs.). Remember to tighten all muffler hangers to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.). After that, lower the truck.
