  A: Disconnect the battery negative cable and leave it isolated for two minutes to service the blower motor on cars with air bags, as discharging the capacitor prevents accidental deployment. You do not have to remove the HVAC housing to get to the blower motor located under the instrument panel on the passenger side. Start by removing the wire harness connector from the blower motor and getting rid of the three screws that hold the blower motor to the HVAC housing. Move the motor around and tilt it as needed so that it comes out of the housing. To set up the blower motor, line it up with the HVAC body, attach it with all three screws tightened to 20 in. lbs., plug the wire harness in and reattach the negative cable to the battery to finish.
