  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Parking Brake Cable on 2004 Jeep Liberty?
    A: If servicing the parking brake cable, isolate the parking brake cables and then get rid of the rear seat. Pull away from the front mount the two cables you just disconnected and then move the carpet forward to find the two parking brake cables from below. Insert the cables with the grommets through the floor, remove them from the axle bracket using a fitting box end wrench and finally let go of the brake cable from the brake lever. The first step in installing is to run the cables through the axle bracket and return the cable to its place on the park brake. Pull the cables through the floorboard and insert the grommets and afterwards, join the two cables to the front mount again. Place the carpet back in the rear and again install the rear seat. Release the lock on the lever, adjust the park brake shoes and then try the parking brake.
