2005 Jeep Liberty Parking Brake Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Parking Brake Cable on 2005 Jeep Liberty?
A: Before servicing or repairing the parking brake cable, secure the parking brake cables and take out the rear seat. Gently pull the carpet forward to see the two parking brake cables under the floor. Separate the cables from the mount and stretch one end into the hole at the floor with the grommet. Remove the cable from the axle by using a fitting box end wrench, after which take the cable out of the brake lever. While installing, fit the cable into the axle bracket and connect it back to the park brake lever. Push the cables down into the floor and insert the grommets. You can then connect the cables back to the wall front. Arrange the loosened carpet in the rear area and then fit the rear seat back into place. Get rid of the lock out on the lever, adjust the parking brake shoes and put the car into park.
