How to Service and Repair an Engine Mount on 2004 Jeep Wrangler?

Start by taking out the negative battery cable and lifting the vehicle so that the transmission is in the air to service and fix the rear engine mount. Take out the screws from the support cushion and remove the crossmember. When using a manual transmission, remove both the cushion nuts and the cushion. After that, detach the bolts holding the transmission support bracket to take out the bracket. Remove the back up cushion bolts for automatic transmission to take off both the cushion and the support bracket in 4WD or the cushion from the adapter bracket in 2WD. On front-wheel driving vehicles, also pull the bolts from the transmission to detach the support adapter. To put it on a manual transmission, place the cushion over the transmission, add the bolts and make sure they're secure. Align the crossmember using the vehicle, fit the mount bolts and nuts and apply 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) torque to the crossmember-to-sill bolts. Remove the support for the transmission, place the vehicle on ground level and then connect the battery's negative cable. With an automatic transmission, fix the transmission mount to the transmission, secure the bolts, set the crossmember where required, install the crossmember to mount with bolt and nut, remove the support for the transmission, lift the car again and link the negative cable back to the battery.
