2004 Jeep Wrangler Lash Adjuster Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service Lash Adjusters with Camshafts Installed on 2004 Jeep Wrangler?
A: For hydraulic lifters located inside a vehicle with camshafts active, first remove the cylinder head cover and then the camshafts and rocker arm. Reassembling lifters is best done by marking them for their original positions after removing them, as they are serviced in groups. To install a hydraulic lifter, ensure the engine oil is at least halfway up the lifter by checking for almost no plunger movement up and down and install it at that time. Now, put the rocker arm in place and continue this step for every hydraulic lifter prior to replacing the camshafts and the cylinder head cover.
