2005 Chrysler Crossfire Dipstick Tube Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Dipstick Tube on 2005 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: You should remove the air cleaner housing before starting to service or repair the oil level indicator tube. Then, take the bolt out of the cylinder head cover that secures the oil indicator tube and undo the cable tie strap holding the wire loom on the same tube. Pull up to take out the oil level indicator tube from the engine. When putting in the unit, change the oil level tube seal, lubricate it with engine oil and be sure the tube enters fully so that oil does not leak. Locate the oil level indicator tube at the indicated position and fit it in the crankcase. After that, screw in the bolt to hold it, stopping when it reaches 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Place the wire harness loom where it belongs, right against the oil level indicator tube and hold it in place using a new cable tie. Install the air cleaner housing again, start the engine and watch for any leaks.
