2006 Chrysler Pacifica Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Air Bag Sensor in the C-Pillar on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: To access the C-Pillar impact sensor, first remove the hood and switch off the battery's negative cable, then give the reserve capacitor two minutes to discharge. Take out the quarter trim panel next to the door where the replacement is planned. After that, use a torx wrench to remove the one screw next to the sensor and the one at the base of the sensor, take off the connector and pull out the sensor. First, fit the sensor in its designated area and attach the electrical connection to it. Attach the sensor using two retaining screws, set them to 7.3 N.m (65 in. lbs.) and reposition the quarter trim panel. No battery negative cable should be connected until the air bag system test is done to avoid any damage to occupants. Be sure to test drive the vehicle once more before putting the hood back on.
