  A: Start the camshaft position sensor service with the removal of the air cleaner lid and with unplugging the inlet air temperature sensor and makeup air hose. After that, unplug the electrical connector and the negative battery cable from the camshaft position sensor. Take out the screws holding the sensor in place and remove the sensor. Unscrew the magnet that is on the top of the camshaft near the rear. Place the target magnet on the very end of the camshaft so the locating dowels fit into the holes and tighten the mounting screw to 3.5 N.m (32 in. lbs.) of torque. Be careful not to over-tighten, since this can cause cracks in the magnet that must be replaced. Add the camshaft position sensor and tighten its installation screws to a torque value of 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.). Gently fix the electrical connector on the sensor so as not to damage the pins by doing it at an angle. Now, attach the negative battery cable, place the air cleaner lid over the opening and install the inlet air temperature sensor along with the makeup air hose.
