How to Replace the Left Dimmer Switch on 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Before handling the air bags or steering column, first cut off the battery negative cable, then wait two minutes after the reserve capacitor discharges. Get rid of both the upper shroud and the lower shroud around the column and remove the screw that holds the left multi-function switch on the Control Module near the right side. With the switch pulled straight out from the module, disconnect the electrical connector, remove the instrument panel wire from the back of the switch and lift the switch out of the module. Set the new left multi-function switch into the far-right opening at the back of the module and connect the switch connector. After that, fit the instrument panel connector to the rear of the switch, place the switch over the module and push it toward the steering column. Bolt the switch in place with the screw, attach the upper and lower shrouds once more to the steering column and rejoin the battery negative cable last.
