How to Service a Sway Bar Link on 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Start the repair of the sway bar link by lifting the vehicle, removing a wheel and taking out the tire. Second, release the nut and bolt at the lower end of the sway bar link on the sway bar. After that, take out the bolt that holds the link to the rear frame rail to remove the link entirely. For installation, put back the sway bar link first, then attach the bolt that holds it to the frame rail without tightening it. After that, insert the lower bolt and nut into the sway bar link and continue to leave both of them loose. Attach the tire and wheel unit, fastening the two wheel mounting stud nuts one after the other to a half specification, before doing the same sequence for the full specified torque of 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Lower the car until its center sits on the curb and tighten both upper and lower bolts of the sway bar link to 65 Nm (48 ft. lbs.).
